We pledge that any personal information on your devices is destroyed securely either by our recyclers or during our refurbishing process.
For items which we recycle directly, we work with Green Century Recycling. Please see their website for their destruction policies.
For items we refurbish, we follow the appropriate procedure below:
- For Macs and external storage devices we use Apple Disk Utility to securely erase and overwrite your data.
- For Windows machines we upgrade them to Windows 10 and then use the Windows 10 secure-erase procedure.
- For iPhones and iPads we use iTunes to erase all data.
- For all other data-bearing devices we follow manufacturer-specific guidelines where available.
- If for any reason we cannot do one of the above or we cannot confirm that the data was successfully destroyed, we will recycle the device with one of the recyclers listed above.
Whether we recycle or refurbish your technology, you can rest assured that everything you drop-off is secure and every measure is taken to destroy whatever data your devices contain.
